New Beginnings in the Balearics
Founders Clemence Pirajean and James Lees are on-site exploring the seascape and landscape surrounds of a traditional house in the Balearics.
Unusually, we are designing whilst demolishing to expedite the reinvention of this family holiday home in time for handover in spring 2025, before the summer season begins.
This traditional Mediterranean property is rich with soul. We will be reconfiguring, restoring and reinvigorating the space and its surroundings to create a unique high-end family holiday home.
We will be preserving the charming and quirky features that we have discovered. Modernising does not mean knocking to the ground and starting again. We are sensitive to celebrating history and want to ensure that this new chapter in the building's life integrates all of the elements that instil it with so much personality.
We are designing a peaceful sanctuary, surrounded by nature.
James is sketching on-site in the warmth of the autumnal Mediterrannean sun.
Clemence is reconfiguring on location. We sit on every seat in the house to understand how it feels and how it will be used by its owners and their future guests.
It is rare that we have the opportunity to document and publish the design and build of a residential project as they are usually under strict confidentiality.
