Nested at the foot of a tower in Dubai’s financial district, Ninive is an oasis of calm. A high walled garden of authentic design and rich cultural references that contrasts but also complements its slick commercial surroundings. Completely outside, Ninive consists of a succession of fabric tents arranged around a central open air courtyard.
Integrating historical forms of architecture, lifestyle and traditions from Mesopotamian mythology into a design scheme and story that would complement the ethics of Ninive; reintroducing lost dishes and cooking techniques from the Arabic World to Dubai.
The layout and materials embody authentic Arabian artisanal soul.
Ninive acts as a home from home for a discerning local clientele and international travellers seeking a more personal and diverse restaurant experience. The customers make the experience, the space ‘belongs’ to them.
The interior is comfortable, with familiar materials upon which layers of culture, art and narrative are built up over time. The space adapts and evolves to the customers and their preferences creating the inclusive feeling of a home.
